Hunt Showdown PC Review

First there's the setting 1890s Cowboys vs zombies team down monster bounties not knowing if other hunters will track you down and steal your loot.

Hunt Showdown PC Gameplay

Hunt Showdown PC, gameplay is so much fun the gameplay is as such you and a buddy maybe even two buddies spawn into a map no you don't have to parachute in it's not some kind of complicated skydiving that you have to learn you use your dark vision to track down clues.

Each clue eliminates all the places that the monster is not after the third clue you know exactly where it is but so does everyone else then you track down.

The monster you slay it easier said than done then you banish its soul when you start to banish its souls this alerts everyone that the banishing has begun.

And it puts a giant blue sky beam right where you are so that means it's time to hunker down and protect your bounty tokens after you banish it you grab your coins.

And you still have to make it to one of three extractions easy right well once you get there you still have to survive for thirty seconds until you get extracted.

And on top of all this death is permanent if you die after rank 11 you lose that hunter and this includes all his or her traits.

And everything in the loadout have an awesome gun with a silencer well stay alive if you want to keep it this added with one of the most phenomenal sound designs makes it for one of the most stressful tense.

And exhilarating experience I have ever had the joy of getting away with a full bounty the frustration of tying from a third party ambush the heart pounding paranoia of every sound.

When you have a bounty but you haven't seen anyone for a while nothing quite captures the same now I'm playing on a regular PlayStation 4 not a pro.

And the graphics are certainly anything to write home about and I would love to see this on a pro honestly a huge selling point for me to get a pro the lighting is amazing.

Both daytime and nighttime maps and even if it's really bright out you go into a dense house and it can make it pitch black with just small beams of light coming through cracks in the wood.

The gameplay is pretty smooth the guns have weight to them and they feel really natural every shot feels like it would in the real world.

But the real star oh the real star is the sound design there is so much that is telegraphed through the sound positions of zombies monsters markers of their hunters.

There's so many different ways you can give your position away crows chickens dogs in a kennel a horse ducks your gunshots you can tell where shots are coming from.

And even how far away they are they even let you preview a weapon and shoot it and then zoom out to see all the different sounds it makes from different lengths.

The sound adds so much to the overall atmosphere standing in a wood barn and hearing the floors and the ceiling creak makes the moments of silence even more tense.

And it just fully immerses you into the world regardless of how bad or good the graphics are this game is overall amazing.

But there are a few grievances bounty hunting monsters is really fun but aside from training letting you go in by yourself and get used to the game you're forced to always play with others.

This isn't a huge deterrent but hunting is so much fun and it would be nice to have a game mode that took a more cooperative buddies and some AI as exhilarating as winning.

Or even just getting out alive can be just as equal is the frustration of losing too you didn't even know was there this is made worse with perma death after rank 11.

You lose everything if that hunter dies admittedly I like that it gives you the first 10 levels to get used to the game but it really didn't take me that long before I shot my way up.

And suddenly had to worry about dying on the one hand it certainly makes you play more carefully and extension the community plays more tactically.

But on the other hand going up against someone who has won several matches in a row and is fully decked out with traits guns equipment can really seem like they have an unfair advantage.

And it makes it way harder to convince yourself to keep playing if you get stuck in a death loop now you can certainly recruit new hunters with even guns.

And traits that you don't even have access to yet that's great however every time you die you start off with just one trait and with just a single win I can add 4 to 5 more traits giving me an advantage over anybody in the next match.

Who was unlucky you are just getting used to the game all this to say that the core of the game is extremely addicting and feels great.

But can have a very steep learning curve it can also unintentionally punish you for making mistakes and award you for getting better at the game.

Well I personally like the risk reward of it all even at the free 10 ranks if you hit that wall and start to death loop it'll make you wonder if you've wasted 40 dollars on a game that you'll stop playing once you hit the skill ceiling.

It hasn't made me hate the game it is definitely something that needs to be pointed out if you want to drop the money on it overall personally.

Hunt Showdown PC, is a great time and it mixes battle royale with left for dead in a cowboy era with its buttery smooth gameplay.

And its phenomenal sound design it is certainly something I feel is worth a day one purchase but if I was gonna raid it I'd have to read it as a wait for a sell or rent first.

Because while I personally love it I do get that it's definitely not for the faint of heart and it can be kind of hard to get into after a certain point so my personal recommendation once again is either wait for a sale or rent.
