Trials of Mana Review

We will be talking about Trials of Mana features, gameplay  and overall review. So let's talk about the trial Trials of Mana remake demo that just came out for the PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo switch.

Now many of you may have not heard about trial semana because this is a game that came out in 1995 for the Super Nintendo but it never came out in North America.

It wasn't until just recently we got the collection amanah that we got an official release for North America and other parts of the world.

Now you may have heard about Secret of Mana that was an awesome game for the Super Nintendo that many people loved and that one also got a fresh coat of paint a couple of years ago via another remake.

Now that one got a lot of mixed responses so I think that when this one was first announced many people were sort of going into it interested.

Trials of Mana Gameplay

Trials of Mana is not a traditional turn based RPG this is an action RPG where you choose one primary character but there's a large variety of characters that you can choose from.

In my case for this demo I chose Kevin because I thought that he looked like a really interesting character plus I usually have the bad habit of just selecting the first character you get as an option.

And I just told myself no you got to think outside the box and I love the fact that in this game and I'm assuming the original one is a lot like it you get a nice origin story that doesn't overstay its welcome it's not super lengthy.

But it lets you know who the character is what is their personality what is it our objective and it seems like with Kevin this is very much a revenge story.

The whole premise of this game is that each character went through their own individual situation and they want to be able to fight back.

The first thing I like is the fact that you can't choose between multiple characters in each one has a different skill set different attacks and it does seem like their backstory is dramatically different so I chose Kevin.

And I like the fact that it is this revenge story that even though it happens at the very beginning I'm not gonna spoil a lot of it but then you get to bump into other characters that do too on your party.

And you get their backstory as well another thing I like is that you can't choose between multiple difficulties personally I went with normal and at the beginning it felt almost way too easy.

But towards the end of the demo I definitely got the sense of the challenge because the first hour I basically barely got attacked.

But then as enemies began to have different things like shields etc I definitely had to be a little bit more careful and the thing that I didn't like because I loved it about the trial cementery make demo has got to be the combat.

Because it is an action RPG and I played a lot of these on the ps1 my favorite one being strong ocean the second story in this game felt very similar to that.

So you're not gonna have these random battles turn-based battles it is very much your right there you can see the enemy you can walk over to them you initiate the battles you can jump you have your quick attack you have your target attack you have different abilities.

That you can unlock and obviously I'm talking about a demo so if this is just a sample a preview of what's to come in the combat sign me up and tie to the combat we have an upgrade system.

That allows you to customize the experience to your liking you can choose if you want to increase damage increase chance of evasion an option I saw was costumes.

And I love that because personally I love to fully customize characters and video games so really good stuff something else I enjoyed.

And I think it is very difficult to do so in a demo especially with a role-playing game is the story and the characters because look I took about two hours to beat this game in two hours in the grand scheme of a role playing game is pretty much nothing.

But I personally want to get the game just to figure out where Kevin story continues to progress because I could connect with the character.

And they didn't have these elaborate 15 minute cutscenes they went right to the point and I think the intriguing thing about it is that everybody that you play ass or joins your party it seems like everybody lost something.

And they want to get it back talking about the graphics I gotta say they looked very nice I was concerned about these because looking at the Secret of Mana remake I hated how that looked that looked like a cheap mobile type of game.

But this game it does seem like they definitely learn from their mistakes it gives me a Dragon Quest esque vibe and each character looks unique I love the reward robe.

And it's not something I commonly refer to in videos where I think that the Wardrobe and the outfits of each character really goes along nicely with her personality something else that was nice is the overall performance of the game on the Nintendo switch.

My overall impressions I got to say I walked out of this demo thinking that I actually want to play it it was not part of my top five top ten or even top 20 that I wanted to play this year.

But the fact that I was able to check out the gameplay the combat mechanic the fact that now if I do buy it on the switch I don't have to play all of this all over again right I think these are really nice incentives and I went over to how long to be calm just to get a sense of how long this game could be.
