Watch Dogs Legion Review

In the article we will mostly be talking about Watch Dogs Legion Review and gameplay. So one thing that quickly stood out to me and was pointed out by the game dev is that everybody is connected in this game.

When you check out the details of each NPC you can see their relatives and friends who you can actually find out in the open world meaning everyone is connected in this game.

You know they have family members friends that they hang out with stuff like that and you can kind of you know experiment with that.

For example you can recruit a whole family into your group you know to help your cause which was kind of very impressive unex tremely ambitious.

I really hope they pull this elf well one of the NPC's I found was a middle aged man who did a hundred percent more damage with shotguns and assault rifles.

But he had a chance of randomly dying, this guy could randomly just collapse have a heart attack whatever it was just such a weird you know Park that he had with him.

One of the interesting thing about that was one of the information pieces at the top of the list where it kind of shows you something about the character.

Like a little interesting fact is said that he's never been vaccinated so it kind of made me wonder if that's kind of related to the the random death that he could experience in the middle of the mission.

Which I thought I just added a lot more depth to the game you know he is an absolute beast when it comes to damage but yeah he might just randomly die and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it.

Watch Dogs Legion Gameplay

So after spending some time at the pub I was able to choose an NPC to help out in order to recruit them to help our cause and our mission was to break into the Scotland Yard building in order to steal information from Albion.

It was explained to me that you can approach the mission in any way you want I was playing as an old granny character with reduced mobility.

So going guns blazing wasn't really an option for me however she had the spider bot which made getting in a little bit easier mice a little bit easier.

I was able to sneak around hack my way around the base and stuff like that but the entrance was locked and I needed to find a keycard this time around.

You can actually send a pulse effect which will highlight all the kind of points of interest in the game which made navigating and seeing what objects you can interact with and stuff like that a lot easier.

After multiple failed stealth attempts I decided to just start shocking everybody with the spider bot so the spider ball can actually shoot this kind of you know electrical shock at people.

Which has the chance of killing whatever you're shooting at and also you can basically approach any sort of MBC and just perform a takedown on them.

Which was actually pretty satisfying to do so essentially once you injure somebody and they're laying on the ground unconscious you can actually walk up to that person and ID them and save them to your contracts.

Because what would happen is those NPCs that are passed out who eventually get transported to the hospital.

Which means if you save the person to your contacts you can track their location and then go to the hospital and try to recruit them yes you can pretty much recruit anybody in the game including Albion operatives.

Obviously the police worse in this game so the people you're fighting against is just a lot harder to recruit those types of NPC's into your hacking group.

There is certain people in this game that cannot be killed or cannot be controlled and those are kind of like the important story NPCs.

Because I did ask if for example main quest givers could be killed in this game and I have been told that there's like a handful of people that just cannot be killed.

Because they are basically essential to this story but those people you don't even kind of find them out in the open well that just kind of appear in specific locations or specific times that are related to the missions.

Once I managed to get inside the Scotland Yard building and get the information from Albion I was able to recruit the NPC we set out to help on this mission.

So once you recruit someone you can choose from three different classes which is really nice each of the class has their own perks you can assign to them.

All NPCs are fully customizable you can choose different outfits weapons and so on I did ask about vehicle customization but there wasn't any in the game at that point.

I don't think they have any sort of plans of introducing that before the game comes out which is a little bit of a shame like he said to me that they kind of more focused on the actual people in the game instead of actual vehicles.

So it doesn't look like any sort of vehicle customization is coming to Watchdogs Legion later on we started a main mission in the game.

I won't go into the details so to not spoil anything but essentially the mission had us explore London a little bit and then followed by a little combat sequence.

So basically the combat sequence had us go into this part of town where basically we had to take down three gang leaders and it was the first time I had the chance to experience the game's gunplay.

I have to say the gunplay feels really good it's drastically improved from watchdogs to in watchdogs 1 because I know in those games it wasn't really satisfying.

I'm not sure if it's the addition of health bars this time around because essentially all NPCs will have health about their head as well as a level.

But I was just kind of you know the guns felt punchy and you could see the damage that you were doing to them and I had this guy equipped that basically was doing a hundred percent more damage with assault rifles and shotguns.

I was able to basically give him a perk which added explosive ammo to those so I was literally just melting through everybody.

So I basically did a little bit hacking you know setting up traps luring people do those traps and then have them go off when they're in proximity.

I use the drone to kind of fly around get in there and hack some information there as well because that was part of the mission and I have to say that drones are literally everywhere in this game.

So you it basically a mobile camera that you have in this game obviously you still have cameras to kind of get around insides of buildings.

Because when NPCs see the little spider BOTS or drones they will shoot at them if they spot them so you have to be careful when using those as well.

About London in Watch Dogs Legion

After successfully eliminating my targets I was tasked with escaping the police which was actually quite difficult I'm not gonna lie essentially London is now divided into these little districts little sections of the map.

As far as I can tell the main roads have checkpoints on them usually the checkpoints are just blue kind of you go through them nothing really happens.

But when you're wanted essentially they act like little how do I put it when you go through it the police is essentially alerted to that area.

So let's say you're about to escape the police by basically running away in a car and you go through one of those checkpoints the police will automatically alert it to your location.

So it's kind of like you have to stay inside those tiny little areas try to maybe use the back roads to get between different districts and so on.

Because if you will be using the main roads whenever you wanted you can basically get but you're just gonna keep going through all those checkpoints.

So the police will constantly be alerted to your position which made things a little bit more interesting so you have to be kind of tactical about your escape plans.

You can't just basically jump in a car start night rowing away I like a hundred miles an hour in one direction and just kind of hope that they're not gonna catch up with you.

There wasn't really much of that happening in Watchdogs Legion and unfortunately that was pretty much all the time I had with the game.

I just managed to escape the police and that was the end of the demo but overall I just have to say holy shit all the kind of voice acting you know the voice is the way NPCs like and of react move stuff like that is randomly generated which is just a crazy.

Final Words

So I can expect a bunch of different kind of you know combinations of people that are gonna be extremely powerful for some mission scenarios.

I am very excited for this game the driving actually felt really good I really enjoyed that I didn't get to experience any kind of you know jumps or stunts or any of that sort of stuff.

So I'm not sure what kind of stuff capabilities are gonna be in this game but for the most part it felt really good gameplay like I said extremely satisfying.

I really enjoyed that so I will definitely be going guns blazing in this game I haven't had a chance to kind of explore any sort of stealth or stuff like that. So hopefully that's gonna be good in this game but overall I'm very satisfied.
