Red Dead Redemption 2 For PC Review

You can be riding along the main of your horse whipping you in the face the warm winds of the countryside laughing your cheeks your hair blowing in the wind you can hear it you can feel it you can feel the warmth of the Sun beating down on you and then someone comes riding along and you can decide what you say to them how you say it and the world will react to what you're saying and to what you're doing.

The game says hey that's fine pull over to the side of the road okay chill out have a snack have a bit of food take out any gun from your collection and you can polish any one of your weapons any one of your guns and you can see it becoming cleaner you can see the dirt stroking off your barrel and then in first person you can hold the trigger and you can use your thumb stick to rotate your gun around then you can take that gun to any gunsmith and you can customize the kind of wood the kind of varnish the color the grain the kind of metal that's used on the hammer the trigger the barrel you can do this to all of your guns. You can walk into any shop in the game in first person view which by the way you can play the whole game in first person for you and then you can go and pick up anything and you can look at it like this and you can use the thumb stick on your controller or I suppose your mouse when the PC version comes out to rotate whatever it is you're looking at playing cards harmonicas apples fruit food dolls toys all authentic to the time period.

The detail it's like this is West world man this is not a game this is West world and you can experience it guns blazing or you can experience it in a bathtub combing and scrubbing your head or you can experience it sitting on your horse out in the West with dust kicking up and the warmth of the Sun where it's like the cicadas would have breeze going through your hair and then you maintain your weapons you grease up your weapons and then someone rides past and decides I think I'll have that weapon if you don't mind sir and so you kill him or you don't kill him you cap him and then you rope him by the ankles and drag him.

Red Dead Redemption 2 PC Game

This game is all about freedom it's freedom with a capital F and a full stop so to summarize the story really briefly. The government is coming into play you Arthur Morgan along with your camp and your group and your leader have a history that isn't exactly squeaky clean pretty soon the law comes after you and your leader Dutch is tasked with getting you and your camp out of trouble and away from the law. We are just trying to survive we don't have a choice slowly bit by bit you notice that Dutch is changing you have turned into my son without spoiling too much he becomes the sort of guy who will leave you to die if you take a bullet and it's inconvenient and you sort of find yourself thinking who the hell is this man who is our leader what happened to him.

It's a feast for your senses man the sound design is like any time you're indoors you can hear little bits of wood creaking over here and as you turn you can hear the floorboards buckling under you just a little bit and that's just a small slither of an example like everything whether you're on grass whether you're on sand when you're on soil brick whatever everything reacts with subtlety and finesse and there's so much detail. It is stunningly beautiful you can be sitting at a campfire and the fire is behind you but you can see the light glowing and scattering and piercing through your ears and wrapping around your skin and even around your clothes and around your hat and or your horse through the hairs of your horse's mane. The light goes through everything and wraps around everything so beautifully.

I discovered saint denis which is like if you can imagine New York 1900s kind of thing cobblestone streets really tall brick buildings old street lamps and this is unbelievably awesome. Game world this stunningly gorgeous all this believable and I got off my horse I thought damn this I've got a walk I've got a walk through st. Denis because the detail and the lighting and the sound design and the people conversing and things happening the only thing you don't get is the smell but you can still cut your brain fills those gaps in you can smell the oils of the machinery the horses going past you you can smell like the dust in them the Mane's of the horses you know you can see that dust coming off everything as it moves and the light wraps around everything so beautifully especially at night.

There is a ridiculous amount of stuff to do in this game activities things to find bounty hunting any Sheriff's Office will have a wanted poster in there you got to go in bring them back to town horse breaking. You can go out into the wild catch yourself a horse break it in either sell the horse or make it your own take it to a stable customize it groom it make it your own horse don't give you a fair price for nobility.

You find pieces of treasure maps that you have to piece together to help you find treasure gold bars different kinds of items etc cigarette cards that's a weird one you find cigarette cards with little pictures on them that you can zoom into and rotate pretty much everywhere in the world and if you find all of them I think you can take the collection to a person who will pay you really well for it.

Food and herbs is a big thing anywhere you are in the world you can set up your camp and you get your little fire going a little spitfire and you can cook any meat that you've killed you can add herbs that you've picked throughout the world to what you're cooking to enhance different attributes my only gripe with Red Dead 2 has to be the weapon wheel system it's not good because it pulls you out of the flow of what's happening you have to hold a trigger to pull up the weapon wheel and now you've got to hold this other button to go into the sub menu and then press these buttons to flip through those sub menu items but I don't want to do that because I'm in the middle of a gunfight or I'm chasing after somebody on horseback I'm gonna lasso somebody no the weapon will takes you out of the emotion because it's cumbersome and it's clunky and it's outdated and I feel like that's something that Rockstar could have paid more attention to the final gripe.

Bishop I know that it's such a small part of the game but it's a really big hurdle to get through especially either players who didn't play the first game and players who you want to introduce the awesomeness of this game to starvin will be preferable come on let's go I remember Assassin's Creed origins when you play byuk in ancient Egypt I think it was and that game just starts you off like that red there too doesn't do that it takes its time it takes a lot of time to build character and to build storylines and to get you familiar with everything.

Final Words

I just feel it does it really slowly as good as the story is which is a really well written story very character-driven you don't even have to touch it to have an amazing journey to live your own life as arthur morgan a cowboy in the early 1900s easy there girl you don't have to touch the story what you do you scrub your horse you give it a bit of a grooming take your guns out clean them polish them take a nice look at them here that's looking good I'm ready for battle I'm ready to head out there and then you just ride you just ride because the game and its world will give you stuff to do no matter where you go who you talk to what you decide to make of yourself I hate to ask but is there any way that you could help us get the supplies that we need to finish anywhere you go destiny will follow you. You will find things to do you will find people to talk to you will find new ways to be the game is constantly rewarding you for exploring it and for playing it and that alone is a reason for you to get your damn hands on Red Dead Redemption 2.
